PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rule applying method to electronically accessible resource description. SOLUTION: This method first reads resource description (1202). The description includes one or more descriptor components. Further, a rule set is read (1204). Each rule makes a prescribed descriptor component pattern correspond to a set of one or more specific actions. Further, the descriptor component pattern of description corresponding to the prescribed pattern is arranged (1208). Finally, the specific actions are carried out on the description in accordance with the arrangement of the prescribed pattern (1206).
