摘要 PURPOSE: A cathode active material of a lithium secondary battery and a method thereof is provided to offer a structural and a thermal stability. CONSTITUTION: In a cathode active material of a lithium secondary battery and a method thereof, a compound powder is made of a selected compound from a group of compounds by a chemical formula 1 to a chemical formula 2. The formulas 1 to 4 make a secondary particle having a size of 10-30 micrometer by collecting one or more primary particle having a size of 1-5 micrometer. The chemical formula 1 is LiCoA2. The formula 2 is LiCoO2-xBx. The formula 3 is LiCo1-xMxA2. The formula 4 is LiCo1-xMxO2-yBy. The powder is processed in thermal treatment after coated by a metal alkoxy solution. In the chemical formulas, A is selected from a group of O, S, F and P, B is selected from a group of s, F and P, M is a transition metal, selected from a group of Al, Mg, Cr and Mn, Sr, or a lanthinide metal selected a group of La and Ce.
