PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization liquid which can provide a capacitor having excellent performance and also can reduce electrolytic polymerization time by compounding at least a polymerizable monomer, an anionic surfactant, a pH adjustor and water, and adjusting the pH of the liquid to a specific pH value. SOLUTION: A polymerization liquid is adjusted to have a pH of 5 or lower. An anionic surfactant is selected from materials having an alkyl group and an aromatic ring, and a molecular weight of at least 180, and the surfactant which is selectively taken in a solid electrolyte as a dopant is preferable. A polymerizable monomer is preferably selected from pyrrole, thiophene, aniline and these derivatives. A pH adjustor is preferably selected from an acid material having an alkyl group or an aromatic ring. A solid electrolytic capacitor can be manufactured by dipping a dielectric oxide layer formed on the surface of a valve metal into a manganese nitrate solution made not more than pH 2 with the pH adjustor, forming a manganese oxide layer by pyrolysis of the resulting product, and then forming a part of a solid electrolyte layer by electrolytic polymerization using a solid electrolyte formation polymeric liquid. |
