PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the liquid crystal display device, etc., with the image pickup function which will not be in a line of sight in unnatural direction and makes a user unaware of the attachment of an image pickup device. SOLUTION: This device has a liquid crystal display panel 12, which can have transitions between a colored state and a transparent light-transmission state, cell by cell, a liquid crystal driving means 21 which controls the coloration and light transmission of each cell, a light scattering means 14, which is provided between the liquid crystal panel and an image pickup optical system opposite the image pickup optical system and has transition between a light scatter state and a transparent state, and a light scatter control means 23 which controls the light scatter state of the light scattering means 14. The light scatter control means 23 allows the light scattering means 14 to have transition between the light scatter state and transparent state, when the light scattering means 14 is in the transparent state, the liquid crystal driving means 21 places the liquid crystal panel in the light transmission state and an image pickup driving 22 makes a solid image pickup element 13 active, whereas when the light scattering means 14 is in the light scatter state, the liquid crystal drive means 21 places the liquid crystal in the colored state and the image pickup drive means 22 makes the solid image pickup element inactive. |
