摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resin material having adverse effect on an electroluminescent device by forming dotted spacers on a base, with such a height as to at least partially exceed the thickness of a thin film layer containing a luminescent layer formed of an organic compound. SOLUTION: Spacers are formed to avoid the flaw of a layer formed of organic material when patterning a thin film layer formed of at least an organic compound, sticking shadow masks closely thereto, and electrodes formed on the thin film layer. The spacers are formed in a dotted state, with such a height as to at least partially exceed the thickness of the thin film layer. The plan view of the dots may be a shape such as round, elliptic, triangular or square shape, and the cross-sectional shape can be a shape such as rectangular shape, tier stand shape, tapered shape or inverted tapered shape. The dotted state allows the spacers to sufficiently perform the function and reduces the quantity of resin existing in a device.
