PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable step tread for passenger transport which is capable of positively securing the movable step tread on a surface and which is covered with a step tread film having a feeling of gentleness in appearance and excellent in the tactual sensation of the sole of a foot and sound absorption. SOLUTION: This movable step tread 1A for passenger transport is rotated, having a plurality of irregular tops and bottoms along a traveling direction, wherein the surfaces of a protruding top 1a, a recessed bottom 1b including the irregular tops and bottoms, and the movable step tread having an engagement groove 1c is covered with a step tread film 1d formed out of a synthetic resin material, and the lower side of the step tread film 1d is formed with an engagement part 1cc recessedly and protrudingly engaged with the engagement groove 1c for integral jointing with each other.
