PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside drive type self-priming pump which can operate at high head and at high efficiency even if small and can ensure a size accuracy in a simple structure. SOLUTION: In a self-priming type pump 1 provided with a rotor 11 rotated and driven by a rotational magnetic field generated by the electrification to a stator 5, an inducer 15 and impeller 16 provided on the rotor 11, a pressurized chamber 19 provided on the delivery side of the impeller 16, an gas and liquid separation chamber 26 for separating to the gas and liquid the gas liquid mixed fluid delivered from the pressurized chamber 19 and return flow passages 17, 21 for returning the fluid gas-liquid separated in the gas liquid separation chamber 26 around the shaft 23 between the inducer 15 and the impeller 16 are provided.
