PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of wind on a tower, achieve light weight, improve stability of paper drain and reduce cost by constituting a tower with lattice booms welded with pipes for guiding a mandrel which is pushed in and pulled out by a mandrel press fitting apparatus. SOLUTION: A tower 6 which is installed to a paper drain machine and guides a mandrel to be pushed in and pulled out by a mandrel press fitting apparatus comprises a lattice boom coupled with divided booms 6i welded with pipes having circular cross sections. That is, the upper and lower ends of four corners of the divided booms 6i are equipped with fork type brackets 11 and brackets 12 having a shape fitted between them, brackets 11, 12 of divided booms 6i being adjacent up and down are mutually fitted together and combined detachably by coupling with pins 10 inserted to pin holes of the bracket 11, 12. In this way, the center of gravity of the whole of the paper drain machine including the tower can be positioned lower thereby reducing the influence of the wind.
