<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain waterproofing over a long period of time by filling gel- like insulating resin in a cavity part of a housing for holding electric wires and terminals fastened to the tips of the electric wires. SOLUTION: Sol or liquid insulating resin such as silicone resin is filled with nearly no clearance in the internal cavity of a housing 51 from an electric wire insert hole 53 of the housing 51. After the insulating resin is hardened into a gel state, a dummy connector is removed to obtain a (waterproof) male connector 50 with nearly the whole cavity part area filled with gel-like insulating resin excluding the tip parts 41 of the male terminals 4. In the case of a (waterproof) female connector 60, on the other hand, the male terminal side end face of a housing 61 is blocked with a jig or the like, and sol or liquid insulating resin is filled with nearly no clearance in the internal cavity of the housing 61 from an electric wire insert hole 63. A (waterproof) female connector 60 with nearly the whole cavity part area filled with gel-like insulating resin is obtained when the insulating resin is hardened into a gel state.</p> |
