PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a circuit breaker for wiring in which breaking in the short- circuiting fault current of a plug and a cord is improved. SOLUTION: In this circuit breaker for wiring, at a current value exceeding a rated current, a bimetal is curved due to heat generated by conduction as a long delay trip means, a contact 12 is opened is being linked to a contact- switch mechanism. At a current value that is at least three times larger than that of the rated current, a first thyristor 5 performs on operation, when a voltage across both terminals of a voltage generation part 1 exceeds a trigger voltage as a short delay trip means. Also, when the charge voltage of a capacitor 8 exceeds the trigger voltage, a second thyristor 9 operates on operation, trips the engagement by the contact 1 being linked to the contact-switching mechanism. Then, at a current value that is at least ten times larger than the rated current, an electromagnetic coil operates as an instantaneous tripping means 13, trips the engagement, and opens the contact 12 which is linked to the switching mechanism.
