PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance maintenance by forming a longitudinally extending yoke integrally through deformation processing, e.g. bending or extrusion molding, so that it has a uniform cross-section over the entire length in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: A yoke 12 being contained removably in the nonmagnetic frame 20 of a stator/mover assembly 10 is produced integrally by extrusion molding or bending to have a substantially U-shaped cross-section which is uniform over the entire length in the longitudinal direction. More specifically, it is molded integrally by deformation processing. A plurality of permanent magnets 14 are arranged in the longitudinal direction on the opposite side plates 121 of the yoke 12 while differentiating the polarity and pasted, in place, trough adhesive such that the poles of opposite permanent magnets 14 also function as opposite poles to generate an alternating field thus constituting a stator 11.
