PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost and to reduce the size of an entire part structure by making a drive motors for disk transfer and pickup transfer common and transferring a disk and a pickup by using the single drive motor. SOLUTION: When a changeover gear 12 comes to a position immediately before the end of intermeshing of a disk gear train 3 and a gear 19 after moving leftward, the changeover gear 12 eventually intermeshes an intervening member 17 and while the changeover gear 12 is moved and supported by the intervening member 17, the changeover gear is further moved toward the left side and this time the changeover gear begins to intermesh a gear 20 constituting a pickup gear train 6. Next, the changeover gear 12 is disengaged from the intervening member 17 and the output from a forward rotating drive motor 1 is transmitted to the pickup gear train 6 via the changeover gear 12. The optical pickup is moved outward in the radial direction of the disk by a lead screw of the pickup gear train 6.
