PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a cycle characteristic by specifying the glass transition temperature of a binding agent of a negative electrode provided with a distributed negative electrode active material layer and disposed opposedly to a positive electrode provided with a positive electrode active material layer containing lithium. SOLUTION: A negative electrode can 3 accommodates a negative electrode 2, and a positive electrode can 5 accommodates a positive electrode 4. A separator 6 is disposed between the positive electrode 4 and negative electrode 2. A nonaqueous electrolyte is filled in the negative elected can 3 and positive electrode can 5. The negative electrode 2 forms a negative electrode active material layer containing a negative electrode active material and a binding agent, on a negative electrode current collector. A metallic foil such as a copper foil is used as the negative electrode current collector. A well-known additive may be added to a negative electrode mix. In a nonaqueous electrolyte battery 1, a mixture of a silicon compound and carbon material is used as the negative electrode active material. A compound expressed by a generated formula MxSi (x>=0.01) can be used as the silicon compound. A resin -40 deg.C or lower in glass transition temperature is used as the binding agent for dispersing the negative electrode active material. |
