PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument tightly clamped with a clip by developing a mounting structure of the clip having a sense of high stability without shaking. SOLUTION: The writing instrument 1 comprises a body 2, a cap 3, and a clip 4 mounted at the cap 3. The clip 4 is engaged by inserting an engaging piece 31 into a groove 10 of a cap body 5, and the clip 4 is further interposed fixedly between the radially enlarge body 5 and a cover member 6. Protruding portions 35, 36 of the piece 31 strongly press sidewalls of parallel portions 16 of the groove 10 and engages into the sidewall. An end portion of the piece 31 is substantially disposed in a positional relation brought into contact with the sidewall of the groove 10. When the clip 4 is observed as a lever, the end of the piece 31 for developing a largest force is brought into contact with the sidewall of the groove 10, and hence the clip 4 is not shaken even when the clip 4 is moved laterally to right or left. |
