PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a dilatant liquid having very strong dilatancy, excellent in its durability, early manifestation, fluidity, dispersion stability, or the like, and useful for a vibration isolator, an energy transmission device, or the like, by dispersing particles in an aprotic polar organic solvent. SOLUTION: This dilatant liquid is prepared by dispersing in (A) an aprotic polar organic solvent (preferably N-methylpyrrolidone) (B) particles such as silica preferably having a particle diameter of about 0.05-5μm in a weight content ratio (the ingredient A/the ingredient B) of about 100/(70-90). The dilatant liquid is produced by adding the ingredient A to the ingredient B and by leaving the mixture over night, followed by simple agitation. |
