摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure always stable electrostatic chargeability for a toner and to suppress the emission of a foul odor from the toner in fixation by specifying the amount of residual monomers in the toner used in an image forming method in which a recovered toner is supplied to a developing part and used in a developing step. SOLUTION: The amount of residual monomers in a toner used in an image forming method in which a latent mage on a latent image carrier is developed to form a toner image, this toner image is transferred from the latent image carrier to a transfer material, the latent image carrier is cleaned after the transfer to recover the toner on the latent image carrier and the recovered toner is supplied to the developing part and used in a developing step is reduced to <=300 ppm, preferably <=170 ppm. The residual monomers include an unreacted monomer that occurs in the synthesis of a binder resin composition and a low molecular weight side reaction product derived from the unreacted monomer, e.g. benzaldehyde produced by the oxidation decomposition of styrene.</p>
