PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a soft molded body without deformation thereof and cutting of a wire. SOLUTION: This method is for cutting extruded soft molded body 3 by a wire 11. The soft molded body 3 is cut by determining a driving program for a winding servomotor and a cutting servomotor 22 such that composite tension exerted on the wire 11 in cutting operation does not exceed a specified value followed by controlling the composite tension to be tensile strength of the wire 11 or less. The composite tension is a total of tension by moment of inertia of a driven side bobbin 13 at the initiation of running of the wire 11, tension by torque exerted on the driven side bobbin 13, tension accompanied by resistance generated by friction between the wire 11 and the soft molded body 3 at cutting, and tension generated by the wire 11 cutting into the soft molded body 3.
