PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the position of a muffler outlet to be adjusted to normal position, even for a vehicle body having variety of retrofit dress-up parts. SOLUTION: A hanger/stay 20, that is to be hanged at an intended position on a vehicle body A, is made independent of a muffler body 10. An arch adapter 21 is integrally installed to a lower end portion of the stay 20. A joint pipe 12, extended from a root end side of the muffler body 10, is provided with a split groove 14 having a constant depth D, and the joint pipe 12 is inserted and fitted into an existing exhaust pipe 13 of the vehicle body A, so that it is free to advance and retract. These two pipes are tightened integrally by a first clamping metal fitting B. The muffler body 10 and the adapter 21 that is fitted therewith are integrally tightened by a second clamping metal fitting C.
