PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for automatically developing a photosensitive planographic printing plate in which the amount of a development replenisher solution to be replenished can be appropriately adjusted. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for automatically developing a photosensitive planographic printing plate has a developing tank 5 containing a developing solution in which an exposed photosensitive planographic printing plate 3 is soaked. A semiconductor pH sensor 60 which measures the pH of the developing solution is put in the developing solution in the developing tank 5. When the pH of the developing solution measured by the pH sensor 60 is below a prescribed value, a development replenisher solution 29 is replenished to the developing tank 5.
