FIBER GAS BAG MATERIAL, PROTECTIVE CUSHION, AND MANUFACTURE OF ITS MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber gas bag material having reduced mass, storage volume, wall rigidity, and static friction. SOLUTION: This material is a fiber gas bag material for protective cushion of an occupant restraint system. The fiber gas bag material is formed of a cloth layer 14 having two overlapped wall portions woven with each other at the peripheral parts thereof. A continuous thin film (12) of airtight material is applied on the first side of each wall portion over the first side entire surface of the wall portion. In addition, methods of manufacturing a protective cushion and the fiber material are also disclosed.
