Connector with emi/rfi gasket

An EMI (electromagnetic interference) or RFI (radio frequency interference) gasket made of conductive material to mount on housings of most commercially available sub-miniature D-style connectors (also commonly known as D-subs or DB-x where x is the number of electrical contacts within the connector) is disclosed. The gasketing will provide conductive engagement to effect reliable EMI grounding of unwanted signals. By designing a gasket to fit most commercially available connectors it will allow cable assembly manufacturers freedom to choose low cost connectors for cable assemblies while still maintaining reliable control of EMI. The gasket extends from the front outer surface of the connector through to the back of the connector and is connectable to the shield of the electric cable.
