The ship has one or more transport tanks (2) positioned in its hull (1). Each tank comprises a base (3) connected to a peripheral wall (4) supported at its base on flexible support components (8). The tank base is supported underneath on the ship hull either directly or via the intermediary of a limitedly compressible insulation layer (6). The flexible support components are fitted between the under side of the tank peripheral wall and the ship hull. Flexible limiting components (10) are provided which limit the movement of the tank peripheral wall upwards. The tank base is bendable in relation to the peripheral wall and the transition between the base and the wall is also bendable.
