The invention relates to a procedure and system for directing a telecommunication connection in a telecommunication system. The telecommunication system comprises a first telecommunication network, such as a telephone network, a second telecommunication network, such as an Internet network, a gateway, which is arranged in between the aforementioned first and second telecommunication network in order to transmit telecommunication connections between them, and a service logic, which is connected to the aforementioned first and second telecommunication network. In the invention, a temporary identifier is assigned to the telecommunication connection, call or service. By means of the temporary identifier, a telecommunication connection, call or service may be identified as a telecommunication connection already going on in the second network. The temporary identifier is a unique telecommunication connection- specific, dynamic identifier and it is freed, after the telecommunication connection has been established or if it has not been used during a predetermined period of time. |
