MECHANICALLY ACTUATED BI-DIRECTIONAL GATE

A mechanically actuated bi-directional gate is disclosed for installation in a fence opening, the gate consisting of a gate panel hingably attached to a first vertical post, a fence latch, disposed at the second end of the gate panel which can selectively engage a second vertical post to lock the gate panel in a closed position, and a gate latch and gate release attached to a frame and disposed on either side of the fence alongside the first vertical post, defining the range of opening of the gate panel. The gate panel can be contacted from either the inward or outward side which will release the fence latch and allow the gate panel to be pushed open to one or the other of the gate latches. The vehicle or other payload will trip the release of the gate panel so that it can be closed again upon passing through the gate.
