PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker promptly driving an arc between contacts in the direction of an arc-extinguishing chamber for extinguishment, and enhancing breaking performance in trip operation. SOLUTION: This circuit breaker is provided with a stator 55b disposed on a base 1, a movable element 5 opposedly contacting and separating to the stator 55b, a yoke 55a, a coil 58 and an electromagnetic tripping device which carries a current to a terminal 19 through the coil 58 electrically connected to the stator 55b and opens and separates the movable element 5 from the stator 55b when over current having a predetermined value or more is made to flow. In the circuit breaker, the stator 55b is formed of a clad material of a copper and iron.
