PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch telephone set which is used in a hotel, an inn, a hospital, etc., and does not need a card timer device for charging, also, whose use state is quickly read from the outside and also, which surely reads a signal so that malfunction can not take place. SOLUTION: This private branch telephone set installed in each room in the premises is provided with a speech communication destination detecting means which inputs a dial signal into the telephone set and detects a speech communication destination, an operating means operating calling charge, a speech communication time detecting means detecting the speech communication time of speech communication and a storing means storing these data, reads data stored in the storing means on the basis of a command signal by a managing device from an outside line of the telephone set and is provided with a carrying means which transfers the read data to the managing device through the outside line.
