PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reducing not only recording blottings and side erasings but also an azimuth loss and to suppress a thermomagnetic relaxation phenomenon. SOLUTION: The Curie temp, Tc1 of a first ferromagnetic layer 4 is higher than the Curie temp. Tc2 of a second ferromagnetic layer 5 and the temp. Tc2 is set enough higher than a reproduction operating temp. Top. Then, the coercive force Hc2 of the second layer 5 is larger than the coercive force Hc1 of the first layer 4 at the temp Top. Positions of the magnetization transition parralel with a track direction can be determined in the area of a temp. higher than an intersecting temp. Tx by performing a magnetic recording by combining an optical modulation magnetic recording and a perpendicular magnetic recording and the azimuth loss can be reduced. Moreover since the coercive force radidly changes at a temp. lower than the temp Tx, a recording area in the track direction can be made smaller than the size of a head. Furthermore, the coercive force is large at a reproduction operating time and a storing time and the magentic recording is strong against thermal disturbance.
