PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electric charge recovering method and circuit of a display device in which an energy recovering efficiency becomes high while the energy of electric charge which is to be recovered does not depend on the capacitance quantity of a load capacitance and which is capable of reducing the power consumption of the display device. SOLUTION: In the electric charge recovering method of the display device recovering the electric charge energy stored on the load capacitance 15 of the pixel of the display device, the recovering time of the electric charge is adjusted based on the voltage detection result of the capacitance 15. When the electric charge energy is to be recovered to a coil 19, the recovering of the energy to the coil is stopped when the voltage of the capacitance 15 is lowered to a stipulated value and the energy is to be recovered to the capacitance 22 connected in parallel with a DC power source 11.
