PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of developer reaching a cleaner device and to prevent the developer from being embedded in an image carrier and causing image noise by efficiently recovering the untransferred developer remaining on the image carrier when transfer material is jammed. SOLUTION: In order to recover the untransferred developer adhering to a photoreceptor 8 to a developing device 9 at the time of paper jamming, a magnetic pole of a developing roller 21 is deviated from an opposed position to the photoreceptor 8 and the photoreceptor 8 is rotated in a reverse direction. Thus, the developer is efficiently recovered in an area where the magnetic attractive force of the magnetic pole is strong. |
