PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively, efficiently sense a closed state of a slag port for exhausting a molten material after melting and to prevent it even if a material to be treated has a high melting point or a molten material has low flowability by heating the port when the closed state of the port is detected. SOLUTION: After a material to be treated is melted b a burning flame of a burner 1 generated in a main combustion chamber 6, the molten material is made to fall along a molten surface 12, and dropped through a rotatable slag port 14 from a slag port opening 4, and captured in a secondary chamber 13. In this case, the vicinity including the opening 4 is photographed by a CCD camera 18 of a slag port closing state sensing means 21, this image data is transmitted to an opening area measuring means 28, and the opening area of the opening 4 is calculated. If the calculated value of the area is smaller than a set value, a slag port heating means 20 is controlled so that a heating burner 41 is ignited by a control means 40.
