PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized charging unit by which discharge is uniformized, nonconformity such as electrification unevenness hardly appears on an image and which is easily manufactured and has an advantage in terms of a cost. SOLUTION: Two electrifying wires 32 are used, and both ends are respectively held by one caulking member 36 so as to prevent twist, and they are laid over through a spring so as to position at the center of a casing. Two electrifying wires 32 are set so that they are brought into contact in a state that voltage is not applied while a center part is separated by a proper distance in a discharging state that high voltage is applied.
