PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent play of electric wire having a plurality of steps by a spacer. SOLUTION: In this play preventing structure for an electric wire, electric wire housing parts 13, 14 having a plurality of steps are formed to have steps in the longitudinal direction of a wire in a connector housing 1, protrusions 8, 9 having a plurality of steps are formed with a positional deviation in the longitudinal direction of the electric wire on a spacer 7, and the electric wire is pressed to wall parts 11, 12 continuing the wire housing parts by the protrusions. And the wire housing part 14 which is the first step is formed short at the entrance of a spacer housing part 3, the wire housing part 13 which is the second step is formed long at the depth side of the spacer housing part 3, the protrusion 9 is located against a stepped wall part 12a between the wire housing parts, and the protrusion 8 is located against the wall part 11. The protrusion 9 is formed at a base wall part 27 of the spacer 7, a terminal housing part 31 is formed with a deviation from the protrusion in the longitudinal direction of the wire, and the protrusion 8 is formed on the outer wall part 29 of the terminal housing. Protrusions 35-38 for locking terminals are formed at the base wall part 27 and the outer wall part 29. The protrusions 8, 9 have inclined surfaces 8a-9b or circular arc surfaces for preventing wire from marred. A terminal supporting part 18 is formed in the spacer housing part.
