<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit voice signals of a plurality of channels employing a voice compression technology efficiently without causing degradation in a primary group digital hierarchy interface (T1 interface) and to provide an on- demand transmission system in an ATM network adopting a specified signaling bit. SOLUTION: A plurality of channels of compressed voice signals are multiplexed on one time slot and a stolen bit for signaling bit is assigned to a specific time slot and data are transmitted efficiently without degradation. Furthermore, the signaling information of the multiplexed voice channels is degenerated and assigned to the signaling bit for each time slot so as to attain on-demand transmission in an ATM network.</p> |
