PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a angle of rotation sensor which can maintain a dust proofing performance for a long time of period by restricting the eccentricity of a coil spring associated with the rotation of a rotor. SOLUTION: This angle of rotation sensor is provided with a cylindrical housing 1, a housing part 5 and a storing part 6 formed in the housing 1 being petitioned by a section wall 4, a rotating shaft 8 rotatably supported on the housing 1 piercing a hole 4 of the section wall 4, a rotation value detecting means 24 for detecting the value of rotation of the rotating shaft 8, a coil spring 12 whose one end part 12b is engaged with the housing 1 and a rotor 13 with a pair of retaining parts 13d and 13e formed thereon. The housing 1 is provided with a pair of stopper parts 2b and 2c at the periphery part of an open part 6a of the storing part 6. A stopper mechanism is so arranged that the other end part 12c of the coil spring 12 is engaged with the rotor 13 fixed on the rotating shaft 8 so as to close the open part 6a and one retaining part 13d is kept in contact with one stopper part 2b by an energizing force of the coil spring 12 while the other retaining part 13e is allowed to contact the other stopper part 2c.
