PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an electric appliance that is operated by transmitting a remote command signal to selectively control an electric appliance with various remote command signals without being limited by a format of the remote command signal. SOLUTION: In this electric appliance, a remote command signal received from a remote command light receiving unit 12 is fed to a CPU 11 and a control signal output terminal 19, a remote command signal from other electric appliance 10 that is received at a control signal input terminal 18 is fed to the CPU 11 and the control signal output terminal 19, a remote command signal resulting from ORing the remote command signal received by the remote command light receiving unit 12 and the remote command signal received at the control signal input terminal 18 is outputted to the control signal output terminal 19 so as to send the remote command signal not through the CPU 11.
