PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system having satisfactory operability as a result of a battery chassis structure for portable electronic devices, where a cover is not easily separated from a case and a battery can be detachably attached with the cover attached to the case. SOLUTION: Grooves are formed in side the surfaces of a case 102. A cover 101 is U-shaped, and the back surface thereof is provided with protuberances 106. By having the protuberances 106 of the cover 101 move along the grooves of the case 102, the cover 101 is slid with respect to the case 102. Furthermore, the dimension between both ends of each groove is set, such that the cover 101 is not separated from the case 102 during sliding, whereby a battery can be detachably attached with the cover 101 while it is attached to the case 102.
