COVERING STRIPPER FOR LARGE DIAMETER SHEATHED WIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheath stripper with which anybody can strip the sheath of a large diameter wire sheath a predetermined length easily even in a narrow working space. SOLUTION: A sheath stripper includes a pair of upper and lower wire receiving element 2 which have respective recessed surfaces 2a with semi-circular cross-sections which accommodate the predetermined length of the circumference of a sheath wire 10. One of the wire receiving elements 2 is fixed to a frame and the other is connected to a pressure cylinder which is incorporated in the frame so as to press the connected receiving element against the opposite receiving element. Further, pairs of left and right semi-circular blades 3 by which the covering 11 of the sheath wire 10 is cut in a circumferential direction and straight blades 4 which are formed between the left and right semi-circular blades 3 and cut the sheath 11 of the sheath wire 10 in the direction of the wire axis are provided on the respective wire receiving elements 2.
