PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device capable of preventing the degradation of work efficiency in, at single-sheet feeding mode. SOLUTION: When the detection of a bias is made effective at selecting of the single-sheet feeding mode (manual insert mode), an effective bias detection flag is turned on (step S25), and when the bias detection is made ineffective, the effective bias detection flag is turned off (step S26). When the effective bias detection flag is set to on or off, the execution of a step single-sheet feeding mode (manual insert mode) is set and it is discriminated whether on or not the effective bias detection flag is turned (steps S27 and S28). When the effective bias detection flag is turned on, the execution of bias detection is set (step S23) and when the effective bias detection flag is turned off, the execution of bias detection is not set.
