PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation in discharge characteristic at a high temperature and low temperature caused by reaction of a carbon material and a nonaqueous solvent by using a nonaqueous electrolyte including silicone oil, a fluorine nonionic surface active agent having a fluoroalkyl group and propylene carbonate as an electrolyte of a secondary battery using a graphite carbon material as a negative electrode. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte for a secondary battery includes a silicone oil of formula I (R represents an alkyl group and (n)=0 to 1000), a fluorine nonionic surface active agent of formula II (x=1 to 16, and y=1 to 10), a nonaqueous solvent such as propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate and a lithium compound as an electrolyte. The concentration of respective components in the nonaqueous electrolyte is desirably 0.002 to 2 of the silicone oil, 0.001 to 0.1 of the fluorine nonionic surface active agent and 1 to 10 of the propylene carbonate in wt.%, and the lithium compound is desirably 0.3 to 2.0 mol/l. Swelling of the battery by decomposition of the nonaqueous solvent can be prevented. |
