PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head which prevents terminal assembly and a head base from being short-circuited by burrs and tearing occurring on the breaking face of a connection part of the terminal assembly. SOLUTION: The terminal assembly where a wiring pattern 2b consisting of a conductive metal is provided on a substrate 2a consisting of an insulating material is placed on a head base 1 on which a head chip where a coil is wound around a core is placed, and the coil is connected to the wiring pattern 2b, and a part of the wiring pattern 2b faces an outer peripheral edge K of the terminal assembly, and a space is formed between this part facing the outer peripheral edge K of the wiring pattern 2b and the head base 1. This space is formed by providing the head base 1 with a recessed part 1b, chamfering the edge, or providing a notched part 1c.
