The cross country ski board has a reversible sole with a smooth face for skiing and a rough face for climbing. A receiver (9) borders the sliding surfaces (13) and a reversible sole (5) also has slide surfaces (12) to hold it in place. Stops and grooves (33) co-operate to hold the sole plate in place.
