PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting processor and processing method suppressing thermal deformation of furnace wall, preserving solid metal as large as it is without spattering around slug contaminated with radioactivity and reducing generation of new secondary radioactive waste. SOLUTION: This melting processor and processing method thereof is provided with a waste charging device 13, a reaction agent supply device 21, a slug cooling device 9 cooled inside by water and capable of elevating, and a solidified slug recovery device 12. In the furnace wall 2 facing a high frequency coil, a slit is arranged and these furnace body, high frequency coil, waste charger, a reaction agent supplier, a slug cooling device and a solid slug recovery device are arranged inside a vessel 14.
