The electrical cabinet (100) is fixed to the ceiling (200) adjacent to the lift doors (320) by tie rods (105) and has a trapdoor (120) which lowers to an almost vertical position. The trapdoor is restrained by a damper (140) and has electronic lift control cards (154a,154b) mounted on it's inner surface which are connected to signalling and security cables (158).
