PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a battery caused by rise of a decomposition gas pressure of an electrolyte by detecting abnormal heat generation caused by an overcharge, a reverse charge or the like when the battery is used. SOLUTION: A sheet-like positive electrode 14 and a negative electrode 16 are wound about a core 20 through a separator 18 inside a battery case 12 and are disposed in a laminated configuration. The battery case 12 is filled with an electrolyte and sealed with a battery lid 24. A battery rupture prevention member 30 is provided either on an inner bottom surface of the battery case 12, on a back surface of a battery lid 24, on an inner peripheral surface of the battery case 12, or inside the core 20. When a thermally actuating piece thereof deforms in response to heat generation of the battery, a conductive metallic pin projects in corporation with a movement of the thermally actuating piece and pierces between the positive electrode 14 and the negative electrode 16 to short-circuit therebetween by its conductivity. |
