PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book management system capable of eliminating the necessity of complicated office procedures for previously preparing a book card and writing the lending of a book in a lending card and capable of surely managing the lending service of books because a person is checked by iris information. SOLUTION: A person to whom a book is to be lent is specified by collating iris information previously registered in a management part 1 arranged in a library with iris information acquired from the irises of the person himself (or herself) and the obtained personal information is written in book lending data stored in a book lending data storing means 11 together with book card data inputted at the time of lending to execute book lending processing.
