PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a communication disk drive which unites communication and recording into one in content communication, can conveniently utilize data communication and reduces the processing of a computer system. SOLUTION: This communication disk drive 18 is provided with a communication interface 12 for performing data communication with an external host computer and provided with a hard disk interface 14 connecting it to a computer system 19. Thus, a software load for communication processing is not applied to the system 19 any more, and the processing load of the system 19 is reduced. Also, communication data are made accessible as a file itself on a hard disk 16 by recording the communication data on the disk 16 included in the drive 18, and communication and recording in content communication (file transfer) is made united to improve the convenience of the content communication.
