PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover replacing gas conveniently after air in an indoor heat exchanger is replaced by the replacing gas by providing the inlet part of a replacing gas recovery container with a cover made of resin or metal having low gas permeability and unsealing the cover with the cutter of a connector for connection with a refrigerant change port. SOLUTION: The body 42 of a replacing gas recovery container is formed tubularly of a metallic material and the container body 42 is closed, on one end side thereof, with a cover 61 and an absorbent A filling the container body 42 is sealed by means of a baffle 71. Sealing plate of the cover 61 is formed of resin or metal having low gas permeability. When a connector is connected with the replacing gas recovery container 42 by screwing the male screw 41B thereof into the female screw of the connector, the replacing gas recovery container 42 is unsealed with the cutter of the connector. The other end of the connector is connected with a refrigerant charge port and carbon dioxide gas in the connection piping or the piping of the indoor unit is introduced from the refrigerant charge port into the replacing gas recovery container 42.
