PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming device capable of obtaining a good image. SOLUTION: A shielding means is provided between the principal rays of a light beam B2 toward one end part T1 of the image area of a film (recording medium) F on the opposite side of a light beam made incident on a mirror surface 113a accross the center of the optical axis O of an fθlens (scanning optical system) 114 out of the light beam B1 reflected by the mirror surface 113a of a polygon mirror (rotation polyhedron) 113 and a light beam B3 toward a corner part C forming a boundary between the mirror surface 113a of the mirror 113 performing scanning with the light beam and the mirror surface 113b adjacent to the mirror surface 113a on the end part side of the image area out of the reflected light beams from one end part of the image area.
