PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost of a die and man-hours and achieve automatic assembly in inserting and connecting the tip of a flexible cable for use in various kinds of electric equipment to a connector. SOLUTION: In this connecting device, a distance between the tip of a flexible cable 12 and a rigidity reinforcing sheet locking pawl 16a of a flexible cable holder 16 nearest the tip of the flexible cable 12 is set at such a length that the tip of the flexible cable 12 cannot be bent with respect to connector inserting resistance when the flexible cable 12 is inserted into the connector 13. Consequently, the tip of the flexible cable 12 can be inserted into and connected to the connector 13 at the same time when a chassis 11 and an electric circuit board 14 are assembled.
