PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR cooler of which the damage due to a thermal stress, vibration or others can be prevented and of which the cooling efficiency is improved. SOLUTION: A cooler shell 1 is disposed so that the axis thereof is horizontal approximately, and a cooling water inlet 5 is provided at a lower position near one end of the shell 1, while a cooling water outlet 6 is provided at an upper position near the other end opposite to the above end. A plurality of baffle plates 9B each having a passage part E for cooling water W are provided in a cooling water passage 1a inside the shell 1, and the passage parts E of the baffle plates 9B are disposed alternately in the vertical direction. The baffle plates 9B have circular peripheries and holes are made in regions biased from the central parts thereof so as to form the passage parts E for the cooling water, while a heat transfer tube in the central stage is supported by the baffle plates 9B. |
